Superb dangling, transformative sleeper earrings, in 9kt pink gold (hallmark: clover), adorned with a faceted coral cabochon in a finely chiseled pink gold surround. Removable drop-shaped pendant, set with a faceted coral bead. Work from Southern Italy, 19th Century. Gross weight: 9.80 g Height: 5.60 cm Condition: very light micro scratches, oxidation, traces of welding, cracking and small dents, on the gold parts. Natural inclusions and cracks in the coral, see photos. Transformation jewelry, very common in the 17th century, was particularly popular during the 19th century. Elegant women liked to adapt their jewelry according to their activities. Spectacular for an evening outfit, they should be able to be simplified for the obligations of the day.
