Pre-owned Pomellato jewelry: Milan's colorful gold
Pomellato jewelry brought color, rose gold and a new kind of ease to Italian fine jewelry. Discover our pre-owned Pomellato jewelry, each piece authenticated by our experts.
Pomellato, the house that reinvented Italian jewelry
Few jewelry houses changed their industry as directly as Pomellato. Here is how a single idea, born in Milan, redefined what fine jewelry could look and feel like.
Pino Rabolini and a new idea from Milan
Pino Rabolini founded Pomellato in Milan in 1967, at a time when fine jewelry was almost always made to order. He introduced the idea of prêt-a-porter jewelry, ready to wear rather than custom-made, bringing rings, necklaces and earrings closer to the world of fashion. This shift, radical for its time, helped establish Milan as a serious rival to Paris in fine jewelry design.
Pomellato pink, a signature rose gold
Pomellato is closely associated with a warm, distinctive rose gold often called Pomellato pink, used across nearly every collection the house produces. This consistent use of rose gold, alongside a love of colored gemstones rather than only diamonds, gives Pomellato jewelry an identity that is immediately recognizable next to more traditional Italian and French jewelry houses.
Nudo, the gemstone as the design
No Pomellato collection is better known than Nudo, where a large faceted gemstone appears to sit directly on the finger, with almost nothing to interrupt it.
The Nudo ring and its bare-stone design
Launched in 2001, the Nudo ring sets a generous, faceted gemstone within a slim rim of rose gold and white gold, so the stone itself, rather than an elaborate setting, becomes the entire design. A Nudo ring is available in a petit size for a more delicate look and a larger model for a bolder statement, and the same faceted-stone language extends to Nudo earrings, a Nudo bracelet and a Nudo pendant necklace, sometimes finished with a small diamond accent.
Blue topaz, prasiolite and other Nudo stones
Nudo rings and pendants come in a wide range of colored gemstones, including London blue topaz and sky blue topaz, prasiolite (a pale green variety of quartz), amethyst and citrine. This range lets a collector choose a Nudo piece to match a personal color palette rather than a fixed idea of what fine jewelry should look like.
Iconica, bold gold in motion
Alongside Nudo, Pomellato created Iconica, a collection built around interlocking rings and gold links rather than a single gemstone.
Iconica rings and chain jewelry
An Iconica ring links two or more gold bands together, often mixing rose gold with yellow gold or white gold, in a design meant to be worn stacked or on its own. The same interlocking logic extends to Iconica bracelets, a gold chain necklace and a diamond-set pendant, giving the collection a more graphic, architectural feel than the softer curves of Nudo.
Sabbia, a textured take on gold and diamonds
Pomellato's Sabbia collection takes its name from the Italian word for sand, describing the fine, grainy texture worked into its gold surfaces.
Sabbia rings, earrings and diamonds
A Sabbia ring, bracelet or pair of Sabbia earrings combines this sandy-textured rose gold with pave diamonds, brown diamonds or colored stones, creating a contrast between the matte gold surface and the brilliance of each diamond. A Sabbia pendant necklace follows the same principle on a finer chain, and Sabbia pieces pair naturally with a Nudo ring or an Iconica bracelet for a more personal, layered look.
Gold, gemstones and Pomellato's color palette
Every Pomellato collection draws on the same small set of materials, used with remarkable consistency across the house's designs.
Rose gold, yellow gold and white gold
Rose gold remains Pomellato's signature metal, though yellow gold and white gold appear across Nudo, Iconica and Sabbia pieces as well, often combined within a single ring or bracelet. Diamonds, blue topaz, prasiolite and other colored gemstones complete a palette built for variety rather than a single, fixed look, whether set on a ring, a bracelet or a pendant necklace.
Buying pre-owned Pomellato jewelry with confidence
Buying a pre-owned Pomellato piece means trusting both its authenticity and the condition of its gold and gemstones.
Authentication of hallmarks and gemstones
Every piece of Pomellato jewelry for sale at Castafiore is examined in detail: gold hallmarks (official stamps guaranteeing metal purity), the security of any gemstone or diamond setting, and the condition of textured surfaces such as a Sabbia piece's grainy finish. Our cofounder Anne Borde spent 30 years in auction houses, notably at Drouot, and her trained eye rarely misses a worn texture or a replaced stone.
Condition and completeness
Our cofounder Charlotte Rey, who spent 20 years at Cartier, checks that a Nudo, Iconica or Sabbia piece has kept the clean lines and color the collection is known for, since a chipped gemstone or a dulled rose gold surface affects both its look and its value.
What shapes the price of a pre-owned piece
Rather than fixed price lists, Castafiore applies an individual valuation approach to ensure fair and transparent pricing for every piece, based on:
- the collection, such as Nudo, Iconica or Sabbia
- the material, whether rose gold, yellow gold or white gold
- the gemstone, such as blue topaz, prasiolite or diamonds
- the condition of the gold surface and any stone setting
Whether you are drawn to the bare gemstone of a Nudo ring, the graphic gold of an Iconica bracelet or the textured brilliance of Sabbia earrings, pre-owned Pomellato jewelry brings a distinctly Milanese sense of color and ease to fine jewelry. Sourced from private collections and exclusive resellers, every piece in our selection is authenticated with care before beginning its next chapter with you.
