Buccellati: Exceptional Jewelry and Handcrafted Luxury Rings
Buccellati is a jewelry house founded by Mario Buccellati in Milan, Italy in 1919. Mario quickly made a name for himself with his exceptionally beautiful designs, where intricate goldsmithing transforms precious stones into sublime works of art.
Among Buccellati's specialties, we find the lace motif transposed onto gold leaf. The “tulle” technique, inspired by the Venetian lace of Burano, is emblematic of the house's know-how.
One of the brand's most iconic collections, Macri , was dedicated by Gianmaria Buccellati to his daughter Maria Cristina. It represents the pinnacle of the rigato technique.
In the 1990s, Andrea Buccellati, Mario's grandson, launched one of the most iconic collections: Hawaii . He would also create Étoilée , a line of jewelry where intertwined yellow gold chains highlight diamond lilies.
Buccellati's reputation also rests on its refined engraving techniques - rigato, telato and segrinato - which give gold and silver textures reminiscent of silk and satin, making each piece unique.
In the 1950s, three of Mario's five sons joined the family business. After Mario's death in 1967, Gianmaria took over as artistic director, while Lorenzo and Federico expanded the brand in Europe, Asia and the United States. In 1979, Buccellati opened a flagship boutique on Place Vendôme in Paris.
