Ring A. AUGIS Signet ring love medal in Yellow gold
Significant vintage signet ring in solid 18K yellow gold (750 thousandths), stamped with an eagle's head Hallmark and a Master Goldsmith's diamond Hallmark. French work by the famous jeweler Alphonse AUGIS, signed. Adorned with a circular "Medal of Love" with a star-shaped chased center, set with four large Prong settings. It bears the embossed inscription "+ qu'hier - que demain". The plate is bordered on the underside by a beautiful gold gallery and is joined to the ring by four twisted gold wires.

This Ring is a rare variation on the iconic French Augis Love Medal. Splendid and very luminous.
In 1907, Lyon jeweler Alphonse AUGIS, inspired by a poem by Rosemonde Gérard (1866-1953) dedicated to her husband, writer Edmond Rostand (1868-1918), author of "Cyrano de Bergerac" in 1897, created the Medal of Love. He had the idea of transcribing the two verses: "Car vois-tu chaque jour je t'aime davantage Aujourd'hui + qu'hier et bien - que demain". LA Medal d'Amour is a constant reminder of the fervor of eternal feelings.
