History

As the first jewelry house to establish itself on Place Vendôme, Boucheron has been a pioneer in many areas of watchmaking and jewelry. Frédéric Boucheron, the brand’s founder, was among the first to promote the wristwatch as early as the mid-19th century. 

The Reflet, launched in 1947, was Boucheron’s first “mass-market” watch success, at a time when the House was still led by the founder’s heirs. Its system for instantly changing the Bracelet was a revolution for women, who could finally make the Watch a fashion accessory that could be adapted to any outfit. Edith Piaf is perhaps the best-known ambassador for Boucheron watches; she considered her Reflets (she reportedly bought more than twenty of them!) to be her lucky charms.
