Antique Gold Coral and Cameo Bracelet

Antique flexible bracelet composed of three rows of faceted coral beads on wire, decorated with a delicately chiseled 18 Kt yellow gold clasp (hallmark: eagle's head) holding a coral cameo representing a bust of a woman. 19th century French work by jeweler Alexis Godet (master's mark). Gross weight: 20.96 g Length: 16.40 cm Height: 2.30 cm Condition: slight micro scratches and oxidation on the gold parts, some shocks and scratches on the coral parts, slightly loose thread, see photos. Coral, although organic in nature, is a material as precious as a fine stone: its growth is very slow, and red like this one, has been prized for thousands of years. It comes mainly from the Mediterranean Sea where it lives  in shaded rocky habitats between 5 and 700 meters deep. All our bracelets.
