An 18-carat yellow gold and platinum brooch; this antique piece features an openwork diamond-shaped design, asymmetrically set with rose-cut diamonds and small calibrated pink sapphires. At the center, a beaded closed bezel setting holds an old cushion-cut diamond. The prongs of the barrette are adorned with openwork platinum, and each is adorned with a 4-prong setting holding a small cushion-cut sapphire. The clasp is a safety pin. There is a small chip on one of the sapphires, which is barely visible. Our opinion: An Art Deco brooch with timeless lines that is easy to wear. French craftsmanship from the 1930s.
