Françoise knew about this rather rare version of the Ellipse and had wanted to show it to you for a long time! Even though the Ellipse design dates back to the 1970s, she is also particularly pleased with the comfort and simplicity of this quartz watch. History The 1970s marked the beginning of a major watchmaking renaissance at Cartier. This included the introduction of the Must line, of course, but also the reinvention of many case shapes designed (and some marketed) since the beginning of the century. This Ellipse, by revisiting the Asian design elements that had helped establish Cartier as jeweler to kings in the 1910s and 1920s, perfectly embodies this trend of reconnecting with the historic designs of the prestigious Maison.
