We see the gold insert set with studs on a steel case—the very feature that made the Santos a hit in the 1980s. For this rounded model, Cartier plays with symmetry by arranging the studs on the insert in a slightly uneven pattern.

History
Just like the Tank, the Santos is one of Cartier’s legendary models. It was designed in 1904 by Louis Cartier for his friend, the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. A pioneering watch, not only for aviation but also in the history of watchmaking: it was the first men’s wristwatch with a Bracelet. In the 1980s, the line split into the Santos Dumont, which remained faithful to the original design, and the Santos, which took on a more modern look thanks to its integrated Bracelet. Even today, the Cartier Santos is available in various versions and continues to enjoy undeniable success!
