History

A watch with the allure of a precious jewel, designed by Jacques Helleu and launched by Chanel in 1987. Drawing on the visual codes established by Gabrielle Chanel, the Chanel Première features an innovative design inspired by the lines of the N°5 perfume and the silhouette of the Place Vendôme. With its lines and the facets of its sapphire crystal, the Première breaks with the conventions of traditional watchmaking, and Chanel dedicated a separate boutique to it on Rue Montaigne in Paris. Available in only three models at its launch, this watch is said to be the first designed and created exclusively for women by Chanel.
