White Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Pearl Necklace
Necklace consisting of two rows of pearly white Oriental cultured pearls, held together by a white gold clasp, 750 fineness, marked with an eagle’s head hallmark, and a platinum clasp, marked with a dog’s head hallmark. The clasp is round in shape and adorned in the center with an old-European cut brilliant-cut diamond set in a prong setting on an illusion mount. On either side are six old-European cut cushion-cut diamonds, also set in prong settings, and six geometric motifs adorned with old-European cut diamonds. The clasp is a ratchet clasp; the push button is set with one of the diamonds and features an additional safety mechanism on the underside. The two rows of pearls are arranged in a cascading style so that the clasp can be worn on the side.
The cultured pearls in this double-strand necklace are magnificent—round, uniform, and with a brilliant luster. The elegant, diamond-set clasp can be worn on the side or at the back, given the slight drape of the pearls.
