The medal's rim bears the inscription "Sacred Heart of Jesus". On the reverse, the crowned Virgin Mary appears carrying the Infant Jesus, surrounded by the inscription "ND du Mont Carmel P.P.N." (Our Lady of Mount Carmel P.P.N.). (Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us). The medal is signed by medallist-engraver C. Charl.
