UNIVERSAL GENEVE "Uni-Compax" steel watch, reference 22551, dating from the mid-1940s.
Its 36 mm case features particularly elegant proportions, characteristic of the great Universal Genève chronographs of this period, with long, sculpted lugs and rectangular pushers.
The original silver dial, enhanced by a beautiful natural patina, features gold applied hour markers and Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock. The two sub-dials are complemented by an elegant blue outer tachymeter scale and a blued central chronograph hand.
The watch is powered by the Universal Genève Caliber 287, a hand-wound mechanical movement featuring a column-wheel chronograph—a design particularly prized by collectors. Both the movement and the case are signed. The case back bears the reference number 22551 and the serial number 1183879.
The watch has undergone a complete mechanical service by a watchmaker specializing in Vintage watches and is in perfect working order. It comes with a 12-month Warranty.
Sold with its original Universal Genève box.
