ZENITH "El Primero" Watch in Yellow gold and Leather

Rare Zenith El Primero Chronometer, reference 30.1250.400, a limited edition of 500 pieces commemorating the 125th anniversary of Zenith.

Founded in 1865 in Le Locle (Switzerland) by Georges Favre-Jacot, Zenith is one of the great historic Swiss watchmaking manufactures, renowned for its expertise in chronometry and, in particular, for the creation in 1969 of the legendary El Primero, the world’s first high-frequency automatic chronograph.

This piece bears the number 280/500, visible on the dial and on the case back.

The 39 mm 18-carat yellow gold case is in excellent condition and has not been polished, thus retaining its original lines and proportions. It shows no scratches, marks, or significant visible signs of oxidation. Zenith signatures and hallmarks, as well as the 750 gold mark, are present.

The white dial is in remarkable condition, featuring three sub-dials, a tachymeter scale, applied hour markers, and gold hands, as well as a date window at 4:30.

The watch is equipped with the famous Zenith El Primero 400 caliber, a high-frequency automatic chronograph movement. It functions perfectly and exhibits excellent timekeeping performance. It was inspected in Paris by Atelier des Tocantes, a watchmaker specializing in Vintage watches.

The watch comes as a full set, with its original Zenith box, outer box, and original papers, including the individual results of the COSC certification test. The COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) is the independent Swiss organization responsible for testing and certifying the accuracy of movements that meet chronometer standards.

The preservation of these original documents is a real asset for this particular watch.
