Saint Tropez medal in yellow gold 18K featuring the famous Saint on the obverse, and the town's coat of arms on the reverse. It features the town's motto: "Ad Usque Fidelis". This medal tells the story of Torpes, Nero's steward, who became one of the first Christian martyrs by refusing to recant his Christian faith. His body was deposited in a boat on the Arno, along with a rooster and a dog. The boat soon ran aground on the shores of a fishing village, which built a chapel in the martyr's image. Torpes gradually became Saint-Tropez. Saint-Tropez is the patron saint of sailors. The town celebrates its patron saint during the traditional bravades every May. This medal was originally worn only by native Tropezians. If you're a Tropezian at heart (or just a Tropezian!), don't hesitate!
