Laure Georges-Picot

Co-founder of Socque

Laure Georges-Picot is the co-founder of Socque, a footwear brand launched in 2022 alongside Camille Cour.

Passionate about vintage wardrobes and androgynous-rock silhouettes, she reinvents ankle boots, penny loafers, and pumps with a refined modernity. She designs collections produced in small series, using high-quality leathers from dormant stocks, crafted between a family workshop in Portugal and an Italian manufacturer.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Laure joined us to share her journey and the behind-the-scenes of this entrepreneurial adventure.

THE BEGINNING

Could you briefly tell us what led you to create your studio?

I don’t believe the creation of Socque came from a single moment or sudden spark. It was more the result of an evolution.

Over the years, I felt my creativity taking a larger role, as if the taste I had developed was finally finding its expression. This inspired me to create my own brand and open a new chapter in my life.

HER UNIVERSE

In a few words, how would you describe your universe?

Tradi cool”? [laughs]

I love vintage, pieces that stand the test of time, and mixing or playing with styles and eras.

A material? Leather, of course. The kind that develops a patina and becomes even more beautiful with time.

HER SIGNATURE

What reflects you most in the work you create?

Our triangular buckle shaped like a guitar pick reflects our vintage inspirations from the 1960s and 1970s.

HER ADVICE

What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to take the leap?

Forget that you might have no chance, just go for it and dive in!

HER JEWELRY

Which of the pieces you selected reflects you the most, and why?

The Panthère ring: I love wearing a bold 1930s ring with a good pair of jeans and a white t-shirt. I think it completes the whole outfit.

It is also a bit of a family story, a taste I inherited from my mother and grandmother.
