Vanessa Naudin Pinoncely is the soul behind Dear Charlotte, a jewelry brand founded in 2011.

Passionate about antique treasures and a true vintage hunter at heart, she draws inspiration from her travels and discoveries to create a universe that is both romantic and retro. After seven years in the Watches and Jewelry department at Vogue Paris, she elevates rings, bracelets, and long necklaces with finesse and delicacy, all crafted in France.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Vanessa joined us to share her world and her journey.

THE BEGINNING

Could you briefly tell us what led you to create your studio?

Passionate about antique jewelry and always on the hunt for the next special piece, I spent seven years in the Watches and Jewelry department at Vogue Paris before creating Dear Charlotte in 2011 to make vintage jewelry more accessible and widely appreciated.

HER UNIVERSE

In a few words, how would you describe your universe?

A baroque universe where each piece of jewelry, with its patina, textures, and gemstones, becomes a "Masterpiece" capable of elevating even the simplest outfit.

HER SIGNATURE

What reflects you most in the work you create?

What reflects me most in the work I create is my focus on the “overall look”: each piece of jewelry must add character and give confidence to the woman wearing it. This led to our Instagram series "1 Look / 1 Jewel", where women can easily envision themselves wearing the pieces.

I work extensively with moodboards in my creative process. At the moment, I am particularly inspired by draping effects on bangles and cuffs, as well as ivory lacquer for this summer, which brings a subtle glow once tanned.

HER ADVICE

What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to take the leap?

Follow your instinct and create for yourself, without comparing yourself to others. Find the right balance between product and price, and above all, COMMUNICATE. Instagram is a wonderful and free tool to share your world and your creativity.

HER JEWELRY

Which of the pieces you selected reflects you the most, and why?

I have a passion for cocktail rings, those “statement rings” that catch the eye. I chose one by David Webb, one of my favorite designers, for its retro style and perfect mix of colors and materials — onyx, coral, and diamond — it is simply stunning!
