Antique ring in yellow gold and 18Kt rose gold (back and ring) hallmark: owl, and 9Kt (setting) set with a fox head under glass. The glass mount is made of colorless glass cut into an engraved dome and painted on the underside. Antique pin reassembled as a ring by our workshop. Victorian work, probably English, for the original pin. Gross weight: 4.27g Height: 1.80 cm Width: 1.40 cm Finger size: 53 (diameter 16.90/ US 6.50). Condition: very slight micro-scratches and oxidation on gold parts, slight wear to setting, very slight abrasion to glass, see photos.   Did you know? Essex glass" has nothing to do with the county of Essex! The technique was brought to England from continental Europe by Thomas Cook in the 1860s. At the same time, a well-known miniature painter and darling of the Queen Victoria named William Essex.
